About Cameron

AI governance and risk specialist turned small business consultant. I help Perth SMEs make practical use of AI and improve the work around it - with the evidence and guardrails to trust what gets built.

My starting point is the task people repeat, the information they handle and the points where work slows down or gets done twice. From there, I help compare realistic ways to improve it - whether that means changing a process, using existing software better, connecting systems, adding automation or applying AI to a specific step.

I’m building Bespoke Method around a simple principle: the solution should fit the work, the people and the economics of the business.

Before consulting, I spent 14 years as a senior business journalist and editor. That work taught me to verify before I trust, to ask why a number is the way it is, and to translate complexity into plain language - the same discipline I now apply to AI guardrails, risk and workflow design.

I also offer personal AI training for individuals who want practical, one-to-one help with their own tasks and goals.

What I bring

Fourteen years of checking facts on deadline, now applied to AI governance and workflow design. Small businesses get the rigour, without the enterprise overhead.

AI governance & risk

Guardrails, not guesswork

Turning frameworks like the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, ISO/IEC 42001, the EU AI Act and the voluntary Australian AI safety standards into written rules a small business can actually follow. I also check where a model can go wrong - hallucinations, data exposure, prompt injection and drift - before it touches real work.

Prompt engineering & alignment

Outputs you can trust

Designing strict, multi-step prompt boundaries and input/output filters so AI produces reliable, on-brand results rather than confident-sounding mistakes. Editorial precision shapes deterministic, tone-correct outputs that fit how a business actually communicates.

Translation & information architecture

Between the technical and the practical

Turning messy, unstructured business information into clean requirements for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). Translating data-science detail into clear financial, legal and operational terms so owners can decide with confidence.

Background

Senior Business Journalist & Editor

Western Australian & international markets · 14 years

Covered ASX and US capital markets, macroeconomics, technology, resources, biotech and geopolitics. Checked market information before it went out, looking for bias, gaps and claims that didn't hold up. Interviewed technical experts and turned what they said into plain reporting. Setting tone, structure and format on deadline turned out to be good training for writing instructions an AI can follow.

Founder & Lead Systems Architect - Instinct

App & SME venture · 2025 – present

Architecting end-to-end product requirements, data flows and workflow logic for an independent software application. Managing data-privacy safeguards, tracking scalability, and balancing user-experience design against structural security.

Case study - Enterprise risk profile: Meta Llama 3

System model audit portfolio

A sandboxed risk and compliance audit evaluating Meta’s open-weights architecture against enterprise data boundaries. Built multi-tier boundary-injection defence filters, RAG grounding constraints and automated token-evaluation matrices to track semantic drift.
